Evidence-based Healthcare (EBHC)
In evidence-based healthcare (EBHC), activities are guided by reliable, synthesised, and up-to-date research knowledge and other best available data — i.e., evidence. The aim is to ensure that healthcare practices and procedures are effective, meaningful to patients and clients (hereafter referred to as clients), as well as usable and appropriate, thereby supporting the achievement of desired care outcomes. The obligation to implement EBHC is based on legislation binding on healthcare professionals¹-³ and ethical guidelines⁴.
