Nursing Research Foundation

We are officially called Nursing Research Foundation sr, (NRF) in English

In Finnish: Hoitotyön tutkimussäätiö sr (Hotus)

Promoter of evidence-based nursing

We are a scientific non-profit organisation which has a nationally unique role in promoting evidence-based practice (EBP) and disseminating research evidence to nursing professionals working in the social welfare and healthcare sector.

We collect, assess, and summarise research evidence into more practical and applicable formats. We also monitor the implementation of evidence-based nursing in Finland.

Our particular focus is on advancing evidence-based nursing grounded in nursing science research within the social and healthcare sector, in order to improve the health of the population. Our work is guided by both national and international policies in social welfare and healthcare.

We are the coordinator and publisher for national NRF Clinical Practice Guidelines (NRF-CPGs) and Evidencetips for nursing in Finland. Our publications are published both in Finnish and Swedish. Selected NRF-CPGs are also being translated into English.

In line with our core aim to promote EBP in healthcare we host The JBI Finnish Centre for Evidence-Based Health care and WHO Collaborating Centre for Nursing in Finland. We are also a member of the Guidelines International Network (G-I-N).
